About
Euphemia Redden & Green and Blue Therapy
Hi, I’m Euphemia Redden.
I was born and raised in Vancouver for the first 10 years of my life, then my family moved to the Okanagan Valley where I graduated high school. After a few years in Kelowna and Victoria, BC, I landed back in Vancouver, the place that has always felt most like home. I am a mom of two teenage boys and a blue heeler dog. I am an artist, with a passion for photography and acrylic and watercolour painting. Before entering the counselling profession I worked for many years as a professional photographer and a high school art teacher.
After 10 years working with adolescents in school settings I am happy to work with young people and anyone at any age who needs support, coping strategies and connection.
I am a highly sensitive person and it took me a lot of my life to realize this is a superpower, but only if harnessed in the right way. Through my own therapeutic journey and then the journey of becoming a therapist I learned techniques to regulate my nervous system, process childhood trauma and build a better attachment style with myself. I am here to help you gain the tools to handle being a human in this overly stimulating world we live in. I focus on mindfulness, self compassion, boundaries, nervous system regulation strategies, reprocessing trauma, and critically looking at the systems we live in. My core values as a therapist and an individual are compassion, community, playfulness, mindfulness and learning. I am always sharing new books and ideas that I am learning with my clients. I am a firm believer that we never stop learning and we all have the capacity for growth and change.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology (MEd) from UBC. I also hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd) from UBC and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
How I Work
I focus on emotional regulation with an emphasis on the nervous system and our window of tolerance with my clients. I believe in the importance of exploring attachment styles, family dynamics and childhood adversities, and I come to this from the lens of parts work. I have training in Trauma Informed Stabilization Therapy (TIST) and I am a level one Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR) practitioner, currently working towards my 2nd level certification.
